Las Trojas Cantina Mexican Restaurant is more than just a place to eat—it’s a dream brought to life by Miguel Martinez, who came to the United States from Michoacán, Mexico with nothing but a bag, the clothes on his back, and a vision for something greater.

From a young age, Miguel had a deep love for the food industry and a burning desire to build a better life for his family. He poured his heart into his work, learning the ins and outs of the restaurant business while never forgetting the rich flavors and warm hospitality of his roots. In 2005, that dream became a reality when he opened the first Las Trojas Cantina, a name inspired by the Spanish word “troja,” meaning a holding place for food. For Miguel, it symbolized a space where culture, community, and cuisine could come together.

Every detail of Las Trojas Cantina is a reflection of Mexico’s heart and soul, from the handcrafted booths and vibrant lighting to the bold, authentic flavors on every plate. Miguel made sure the restaurant didn’t just serve Mexican food—it felt like Mexico.

Today, Las Trojas has grown to 11 family-owned locations, each still driven by Miguel’s passion for fresh, locally sourced ingredients, plentiful margaritas, and above all, community. He built this restaurant not only for his family but with them. His wife, children, and extended family have all played a part in turning his dream into a reality.
